Two Hinds County Deputies were hurt in a Wreck

The two deputies were cut out of a mangled patrol car following a wreck, according to Maj. Pete Luke.

The wreck happened on I-20 W where Jackson and Clinton meet.

A Hinds County patrol car carrying two deputies was in the left lane and a commercial box truck was in the right lane, according to Maj. Luke.

The box truck veered into the left lane, attempting to get into the emergency median turn-around, when it collided with the patrol car, said Maj. Luke.

The patrol car landed in a ditch.

Emergency crews had to cut both deputies out of the vehicle, according to Maj. Luke. They were taken to UMMC with unknown injuries. The driver of the truck had minor injuries.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still investigating the wreck.
